Acupuncture Care That Comes To You

Sometimes getting to an appointment is the hardest part

Severe pain, fatigue, mobility limitations, cancer treatment, chronic illness, or other health concerns can make leaving home difficult — especially on the days when you may need support the most.

With mobile acupuncture, a licensed acupuncturist comes directly to your home so you can receive individualized acupuncture care in a familiar, comfortable environment.

We bring everything needed for your treatment — including our own professional treatment table and acupuncture supplies. You don't need to own a massage table or provide special equipment. All we ask is that you have a clean, quiet area with enough space for us to comfortably set up the treatment table.

What Do I Need at Home for My Treatment?

Very little! We bring our own treatment table

and all the supplies needed for your

acupuncture session.

Before your appointment, we'll provide simple

instructions to help you prepare. Generally, all

you'll need is:

A clean, quiet area with enough room for us to set

up our treatment table

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing when possible

A space where you can relax without interruption

during your treatment

We'll take care of the rest. Our goal is to make receiving acupuncture at home as simple and comfortable as possible.

Who Is Mobile Acupuncture For?

Our in-home acupuncture service may be especially helpful for people who are experiencing health

challenges that make traveling to a clinic difficult. We have a particular interest in supporting women

throughout different stages of life and complex women's health concerns, including:

Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain

For some women, endometriosis symptoms and pelvic pain become severe enough that

even leaving the house feels overwhelming. Acupuncture may be incorporated into a

broader care plan to help support pelvic discomfort, menstrual symptoms, stress, and sleep

difficulties.

Learn more about published research examining acupuncture for endometriosis

related pelvic pain and quality of life.

Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain

Living with fibromyalgia can mean unpredictable days of widespread pain, fatigue, poor

sleep, and heightened sensitivity. Mobile acupuncture lets you receive care without the

added physical demands of traveling to and from an appointment.

Explore published research on acupuncture for fibromyalgia, pain, and related symptoms.

Cancer & Cancer Treatment Support

Getting to another appointment can feel exhausting during treatment. In-home

acupuncture may support patients experiencing fatigue, nausea, discomfort, sleep

difficulties, or stress — complementing, never replacing, your oncology team's care.

Read published research on acupuncture as complementary supportive care for chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting.

Limited Mobility & Older Adults

Transportation can become a significant barrier to receiving care. Mobile acupuncture allows

appropriate patients to be treated at home without navigating stairs, parking, or long trips

outside the house.

Menstrual & Women's Health Concerns

Our practitioners have extensive experience working with women's health concerns. Depending on your individual situation, acupuncture may be incorporated into care for concerns related to:

• Painful periods and menstrual discomfort

• Endometriosis

• PMS

• Perimenopause and menopause

• Stress and anxiety

• Sleep difficulties

• Chronic pain

• Fatigue

• Fertility and reproductive health

• Postpartum support

Every patient and every health condition is different. Your treatment plan will be individualized based on your health history, symptoms, goals, and clinical assessment.

What to Expect From Mobile Acupuncture

We want your first treatment to be thorough, personalized,

and comfortable

Step 1 — Inquiry

We confirm it's the right fit

Tell us about your location, mobility needs, and what you're hoping for. We'll confirm whether an in-home visit is appropriate before scheduling anything.

Your First Mobile Acupuncture Visit · Approximately 90 minutes

A complete visit that stands on its own

Your initial appointment will be longer than subsequent treatments so your practitioner has time to understand your health history and determine whether acupuncture is appropriate for your needs. This visit is standalone — there is no obligation to book anything further. Your visit may include:

  • Comprehensive health history
  • Discussion of your primary concerns
  • Review of current symptoms
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment
  • Acupuncture treatment
  • Initial recommendations
  • Discussion of what happens next

Because we are treating you in your home, your practitioner will also help determine an appropriate and comfortable space for treatment.

If You Choose to Continue — optional

Follow-up treatment, on your terms

Whether and how you continue is entirely up to you. Follow-up visits are scheduled according to the care plan presented at your initial visit and adjusted based on how you're responding to treatment.

Reserving Your Appointment

Because mobile acupuncture appointments require dedicated travel and treatment time, we require full payment before the appointment date to secure your initial appointment.

After we receive your inquiry, our team will confirm your location, appointment availability, and whether mobile acupuncture is appropriate for your needs. Once your appointment details are confirmed, we'll collect the $100 non-refundable deposit.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the full amount being non-refundable.

Pain or fatigue makes leaving home difficult

You are undergoing cancer treatment or recovering from medical treatment

Fibromyalgia symptoms make appointments outside the home challenging

You rely on a caregiver or family member for transportation

You have limited mobility

Endometriosis or plevic pain makes travel difficult

You are an older adult who has difficulty getting to appointments

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Some Good To Knows

What is mobile acupuncture?

Mobile acupuncture — sometimes called in-home acupuncture, at-home acupuncture, or house-call acupuncture — allows you to receive acupuncture treatment at your home rather than traveling to an acupuncture clinic. A licensed acupuncturist brings the necessary treatment supplies to you and performs your treatment in an appropriate space within your home.

What do I need for an in-home acupuncture treatment?

Very little! We bring our own professional treatment table and all necessary acupuncture supplies. All you need is a clean, quiet area with enough space for us to comfortably set up and provide your treatment.

Do you provide mobile acupuncture near Pasadena?

Yes. Healing with Zen's primary mobile acupuncture service area is Pasadena and surrounding communities, with select appointments available throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Contact us with your ZIP code to determine availability.

Do you only provide mobile acupuncture for women?

Our mobile acupuncture program has a special focus on women's health and conditions that disproportionately affect women, but inquiries are welcome from anyone who may benefit from receiving acupuncture at home. Eligibility is determined based on clinical appropriateness, location, practitioner availability, and the ability to safely provide treatment in the home.

Can acupuncture help with endometriosis?

Acupuncture is commonly sought as a complementary approach by patients experiencing endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Your practitioner will evaluate your individual symptoms and determine how acupuncture may fit alongside the care you're receiving from your physician or women's healthcare provider.

Can someone receive acupuncture during cancer treatment?

Some patients use acupuncture as complementary supportive care during cancer treatment. Because cancer treatments and individual medical circumstances vary considerably, we may request coordination or clearance from your oncology team before beginning treatment. Acupuncture does not replace oncology treatment or medical care.

Do you provide acupuncture for seniors at home?

Yes. Mobile acupuncture may be particularly useful for older adults who have difficulty traveling because of mobility limitations, chronic pain, fatigue, or other health concerns. Contact us to discuss your family member's circumstances and whether an in-home appointment would be appropriate.

How long is a mobile acupuncture appointment?

Your initial mobile acupuncture consultation and treatment will be longer so your practitioner can complete a comprehensive health assessment, provide your first treatment, and present your report of findings and personalized care plan before you leave. Please allow 90 minutes. If you choose to continue, expect 60 minutes for follow-up treatments.

Do I have to commit to more than one visit?

No. Your initial visit can be booked as a standalone appointment. Your report of findings and personalized care plan are presented at the end of that same visit, and whether you'd like to continue with follow-up treatment is entirely your decision.

How much does mobile acupuncture cost?

Initial Mobile Acupuncture Visit: $400. Follow-Up Mobile Acupuncture Treatment, if you choose to continue: $350. Treatment bed (if required): $50. Because mobile appointments require additional practitioner travel and setup time, pricing differs from appointments at our Pasadena clinic.

Please click here to see our cancellation policy.

Do you accept insurance for mobile acupuncture?

We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance, but we are more than happy to provide Superbills for you to submit and get reimbursed directly from your insurance.

What do I need at home for my treatment?

Before your appointment, our team will provide simple instructions about preparing for your visit. Generally, we ask that you have a quiet, clean area where your practitioner can safely set up and provide treatment.
